How to Save A Knocked Out Tooth

 ...tooth-knocked-out!

Oral injuries are common during sports activities. A properly fitted mouthguard significantly reduces the risk of oral trauma, but accidents can still happen, such as the loss of an "avulsed" tooth. An avulsed tooth is one that has been knocked out of its socket. If this occurs, it's important to get to a dentist as quickly as possible.

The chances of saving a tooth are highest in young children, but adult teeth can also be saved. Only permanent teeth should be re-implanted. It's crucial to avoid causing further damage to the tooth. Rinse the tooth gently with water or milk and keep it moist!

A knocked-out tooth begins to die within 15 minutes. To preserve the tooth until you can reach the dentist, either place it in a container of milk or carefully try to put it back into the socket and hold it in your mouth. Both methods will help the tooth survive longer.
